Southwest Key II

Austin, Texas

Within a year of opening their doors, Southwest Key, a large, national, non-profit, had already outgrown their new building. This 14,000 square foot addition holds a community room, offices, a boardroom, and two classrooms. Special attention was paid to the circulation in and around the site for its current use and for expansion in the future. Open-air walkways were provided on the ground floor of the addition to allow for a vibrant courtyard in the center of the buildings. Circulation within the building, a roof-top deck for the boardroom, and a heavy ground floor program helped shape the massing of the addition as well.
