College House

College Houses is a large, student-owned and operated, residential cooperative near the University of Texas at Austin and operates the largest affordable housing operation outside the University. 180 student residences, parking for eighty cars, and two commercial kitchen and dining areas are organized in seven levels around a large interior space. Offices for the co-op face the street at lower levels, and common study and recreational spaces face the courtyard. Clay tile cladding covers the exterior, and large openings penetrate from the courtyard to the exterior on each level creating outdoor social spaces for the students.
