Community Issue

Texas Contemporary™ Monthly: Issue 15

How do you participate in the value of community?

Actively participating and supporting our community is a two-way street. We live here and we give here. Be it nurturing the environment, stimulating economic development, supporting education, arts, and culture, or electing the right leaders to help guide our future, community engagement is valuable and beneficial for all.

LEVY DYKEMA is committed to making a difference. It is a part of the fabric that distinguishes our company culture. From our staff actively dedicating their time to community causes to supporting the passionate voices of dedicated organizations and leaders, community engagement is a cornerstone of helping enrich the vitality of where we live, work and play.

Acting on the truism, "your vote is your voice," we are proud to announce our support of the campaign to elect Senator Kirk Watson for Mayor of Austin. The Austin we know, and love today was the vision of then Mayor Kirk Watson who served from 1997 to 2001. He has a proven record of making things happen and the skills to plan for the next twenty years.

Be on the lookout for your invitation to the Kirk Watson for Austin Mayor fundraiser event to be held on July 21!

Our Signature Work

Ron Yates Winery Tasting Facility - Hye, Texas

At LEVY DYKEMA, we encourage and support our staff’s extracurricular endeavors. Whether it’s spending time with Habitat Humanity or helping paint a mural, our team loves giving back.

Habitat for Humanity with Marcela Cid and Jojit Diaz

On May 19, Interior Designer, Marcela Cid and Project Manager, Jojit Diaz spent the day building houses with Habitat for Humanity. They were tasked with window trims. They had to cut them according to size, then use the nail gun to attach it to the house and then hide and fix whatever needed to be adjusted. Great work, team!

TexPrep with Rob and Madeline

This summer Rob and Madeline from our Corpus Christi studio are volunteering time with TexPrep. TexPrep (Texas Prefreshman Engineering Program) provides educational enrichment to middle school and high school students interested in pursuing science-based careers. Nearly 100 students are accepted in the program and volunteers guide them through the curriculum that will further enhance their studies and help them reach their academic goals.

Nice work, team!

A Message from our President, Stephen V. Levy

A Sense of Community Drives Us

There is no greater satisfaction than seeing the benefits to our community from the architecture, design and interiors work we do. But our vision and desire to enhance the quality of life for our community goes well beyond our professional services and craft.

Giving back through financial resources and volunteering is an integral part of our company and staff culture. Be it education, social services or homelessness, we are dedicated to helping make a difference.

From Austin to Corpus Christi, we are connected in spirit and drive to help achieve aspirational success for our community.

Stephen V. Levy
