Designing Unique Spaces

The interior design team at LEVY DYKEMA takes a holistic approach to design, addressing challenges from all perspectives to create unique and harmonious spaces that meet client goals. The design process begins by understanding the client's vision for their space.

Our team then integrates their needs, goals, and preferences into the design process. Through collaboration and innovation, each project is approached with a keen eye for detail, ensuring that every aspect of the design is carefully considered, from furniture and materials selection to lighting and color schemes. We believe that the best designs are those that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also functional and practical, and we work tirelessly to achieve this balance in every project.

This month, Studio Director, Paul Thompson shares insight into the process of the LEVY DYKEMA Interiors team.

Every project starts with a client’s goal – employee retention for a business, table turns at a restaurant or a boutique shopping experience for a retailer. Sometimes we are given free rein as we imagine a space that supports their goals, while other times the client has specific requirements and expectations. In either case, one of our biggest challenges is to help our clients understand that vision and how it will be implemented in the real world.

The Interior Design team at LEVY DYKEMA excels at visualizing a 3D world and presenting it in 2D. This process can take many forms, from mood boards, sketches, renderings, and immersive technology. Seeing these ideas move from paper to reality is always satisfying, creating spaces that exceed client expectations!

Seeing a client get to experience the space that we helped create has always been the most exciting part of this work for me.

Last month, the Corpus Christi studio attended the 34th annual KEDT Food & Wine Classic at the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History. Congratulations on a successful event to Biby Dykema, the 2023 Food & Wine Classic Chairperson!

Art & Interiors

Interior design is all about creating unique and harmonious spaces. Successful interior design uses art pieces to enhance the interior and create beautiful and thought-provoking spaces that merge the lines between aesthetics and functionality. By incorporating artwork into a carefully selected interior space, a room can gain shape and character to create an inviting and meaningful atmosphere.

Artwork can tell a story and evoke emotion in interior design in many ways. The artwork chosen can set a theme for the interior space, whether it is bold and vibrant or subtle and subdued. Art can profoundly affect how people think and feel, and create environments that are inviting, calming, energizing, or lively. With the right art pieces, a designer can set the tone for an interior, creating a visually stimulating and emotionally engaging space that brings together people from different backgrounds, creating a deeper understanding of individual experiences.

When combined properly, art and interiors can create a powerful visual experience. For example, an abstract painting can provide texture and bold color to an otherwise neutral space, while a luxurious piece of furniture can add character and visual intrigue to a bright and airy room. Whether you create a beautiful gallery wall or subtle accents, art and interiors can work together to provide a space with personality and vibrancy.

Careful consideration should be given to the pieces and how they all come together to create a unique, branded experience for your commercial project or personalized expression for your home. The Interior Design team at LEVY DYKEMA are experts at crafting a combination of art and interiors that create inviting, meaningful, and creative environments for our clients. We use a thoughtful blend of art and interior design to make spaces with warmth, comfort, and beauty. By continuing to explore different styles, textures, and color palettes, we create original and captivating living and commercial areas that have both visual impact and a deep connection to our lives.

Ultimately, artwork helps us express ourselves, tell stories, and connect with others. Art can also help us to better understand the world we live in, communicate ideas and feelings, and build stronger relationships with others. Art is also important because it helps us to appreciate the beauty of the world around us, stimulates our creativity and our imaginations, and gives us perspective.
